Bricks as a foundational element are associated with the concept of home. They extend into the fabric of everyday life, resonating across cultures, reflecting social progress and the linear evolution of eras. Bricks are tool that can be stacked, measured and have been utilised throughout civilization within the context of linear time.

This series of works conveys the concept of space within frames and structure, aiming to reconsider the formed space we live in. Both functional and conceptual, bricks serve as a boundary concept, marking the convergence of inner space—human nature of living and outer space—the ambition of development and the exploration of the unknown. The installation opens a dialogue about simply being, motivations and the traces of what has developed and remained.

Bringing these biodegradable sculptures into the forest, as returning resources to soil through sedimentation, time and gravity, I hope to encourage reflection on what we have taken, produced and consumed in the face of disrupted and reshaped nature.

Time acts as the threshold between knowledge and the unknown. We live at the intersection where perception meets a broader, elusive concept we can only refer to as time.
Bricks as a medium to define space, create boundaries between inner and outer worlds, between time and space. Looking up to the sky and down to the ground, among trees and plants, the smaller scale of the sculpture invites viewers to observe the relationship between the work and surrounding nature, and perhaps to find or imagine themselves within and beyond the space.

WHAT IS YOUR FUNDAMENT

In the constant process of adapting and digesting knowledge and present occurrences, openness is key. I am interested in exploring inevitable frameworks and the overlooked flexibility that is often ignored. Considering the concept of time which we all live within, I consider its multiple aspects as a metaphor for structural frameworks, social expectations, a site for collective experience. And more than its function, transcending the linear and quantitative definition of time, a space of the uncategorised and undefined expands. In opposition to centralised and inflexible ideologies, I question rigid systems and their manipulation in blurring facts and truths.
This exploration hardly seeks a solution or definitive answer to societal turbulence, as the tug of war appears endless and strained, do we still have time and space for an open dialogue?
